Welcome to The Bread Barn™, a family-owned farmhouse bakery in Franklin Township, Indianapolis, where every loaf and roll is baked with love, integrity, and the joy of community.

From gooey cinnamon rolls to rustic sourdough, each bake is handcrafted in small batches using wild fermentation, high-quality ingredients, and old-world techniques. Our artisan bread and cookies are made fresh for every Market Day and available at our self-serve stand in the heart of Franklin Township.

A Tremendous Grand Opening at The Bread Barn™

When we opened The Bread Barn™ in Franklin Township, Indianapolis on June 28, we could never have imagined the response.

In just three hours, more than 150 pounds of artisan sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, and farmhouse cookies were sold — every loaf, cookie, and roll spoken for.

 

Guests traveled from across Indiana and even from California to visit. Word spread quickly, with coverage from local food bloggers, Indianapolis journalists, and a press release featured by 40+ publishers reaching nearly 2 million readers.

Our Facebook community grew from 0 to 700 followers in one week, with over 50,000 views on our Market Day launch. The feedback has been kind, generous, and deeply affirming.

Thanks to your incredible support, we’re already expanding:
🥖 Pre-orders are now live — and yes, 95% of you are ordering our cinnamon rolls!
🌾 Gluten-free options are both available now as well more are in development (you asked, we listened).
🤝 Market Days are growing into a cherished community tradition.

At The Bread Barn™ in Franklin Township, Indianapolis, we’ve created a simple, secure, and welcoming system — just like stopping by a neighbor’s front porch. Our honor-based self-serve stand makes it easy to enjoy artisan sourdough, cinnamon rolls, and cookies fresh from our farmhouse kitchen.

3️⃣ Pay using one of the easy digital methods listed below

What’s Baking at The Bread Barn™

Our menu is small by design — handcrafted in limited batches to ensure freshness, quality, and flavor in every bite. Each week depends on ingredient availability, baking schedule, and oven space, which makes every Market Day feel unique.

We bake on the first and third Fridays of each month, stocking the self-serve stand by Saturday at 8:00 AM until sold out. (Check our Facebook page for seasonal menus and schedule updates.)

 

A Taste of What We’re Known For:

  • Farmhouse Cinnamon Rolls – Buttery, gooey, and topped with optional glaze; our #1 pre-order item.

  • Rustic Artisan Sourdough – Naturally leavened, hand-scored, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside.

  • Cinnamon Raisin & Blueberry Sourdough – Infused with sweet spice or real fruit for a farmhouse twist.

  • Cheddar Jalapeño & Cheddar Bacon Sourdough – Savory loaves with sharp cheese and just the right kick.

  • Farmhouse Sandwich Loaves & Rolls – Soft golden bread for everyday slicing, toast, or slider sandwiches.

  • French Bread & Dinner Rolls – Classic, hand-shaped, and perfect for BLTs, pasta night, or garlic toast.

  • Cookies & Treats – From triple-chip chocolate to double chocolate, baked thick and loaded with flavor.

  • Mixes & Pantry Favorites – Muffin, pancake, hot cocoa, and pizza dough mixes for easy farmhouse baking at home.

 

We also rotate in specialty bakes like bagels, English muffins, and buttery biscuits — so there’s always something new to discover.

My Letter To You...

Hi, I’m Sheila Healey — the hands behind the loaves at The Bread Barn™ in Franklin Township, Indianapolis.

For me, baking isn’t just about feeding people. It’s about slowing down, choosing better ingredients, and honoring the process. Every roll, loaf, and cookie that comes out of my farmhouse kitchen is handmade with care — the kind of care that’s hard to find in today’s fast-paced world.

We bake on the first and third Fridays of each month so that the stand is fully stocked and ready by Saturday at 8:00 AM. We remain open until sold out — sometimes through Sunday. Pre-orders are always labeled and waiting for you, while everything else is first come, first served.

Our baking schedule may shift with seasons and family rhythms, so we invite you to follow along on Facebook for menu previews, seasonal sourdough flavors, cinnamon roll specials, and confirmed Market Days.
